Description: Continued growth in demand for our services means we are now looking to appoint a climate change policy specialist with expertise in low carbon fuels and technologies, and climate mitigation, energy efficiency and renewable energy policies.

This is an opportunity to shape EU, national and international policy on climate change and energy. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for the development and implementation of effective policy and enjoys working in a multi-national, collaborative, project-based environment.

The successful candidate will win, manage and deliver climate and energy policy and strategy contracts for European, national and international clients. He or she will work within a team of analysts, economists, scientists and technical specialists here in Europe and across our international network of offices. Ideal candidates will have a strong track record in successfully delivering European Commission policy projects as well as having a consulting background and a successful business development track record. They will have a track record in design and appraisal of policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Win, manage and deliver climate and energy policy and strategy contracts for European Commission, governments and private sector clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Provide leading contributions on technical, emissions, energy and economic impacts of climate and energy policy.
  • Manage project teams and subcontractors, taking responsibility for meeting client needs within quality, time and budget constraints.
  • Market the company at client meetings, events and networking groups through presentation of papers on pertinent topics.

Qualification:

  • Degree in engineering or science.
  • Complementary relevant Master’s degree would be preferred.
  • Between 5 and 9 years of relevant professional experience in a consulting or research environment;
  • Experience winning and successfully delivering climate and energy policy and strategy contracts for European Commission, governments and private sector clients.
  • Expertise in areas such as low carbon fuels and technologies, CCS, energy efficiency, renewable energy, shale gas and energy markets.
  • Experience in development and implementation of climate and energy policies including EU ETS technical building blocks (MRV, allocation, registry, market oversight etc).
  • Knowledge of energy, industry and transport sectors.
  • Business development and marketing experience.
  • Project management experience, preferably including trans-national projects.

  • Ability to work independently towards challenging targets and to prioritise, multi-task and work to strict deadlines.
