Ryan Kamm Ryan Kamm is currently on leave from his position with the Nashville Symphony, where he has been a member of the bass section for 5 years. Prior to joining the Nashville Symphony, he held appointments with the New World Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.

Throughout his professional career Ryan has been an active teacher at the college, high school, and middle school levels, holding teaching positions at Middle Tennessee State University and Tennessee Governor’s School for the Performing Arts and coaching and adjudicating for institutions including the Tennessee All-State Orchestra program, the Oberlin Conservatory, and the Greater Boston Youth Symphony.

Ryan Kamm’s education includes a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Double Bass Performance with distinction from Indiana University as a student of Lawrence Hurst, and a Master’s of Music degree in performance from Boston University as a student of Edwin Barker, followed by a year of private study with Harold Robinson, Principal Bassist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Other teachers with whom he has studied include Eugene Levinson, Leigh Mesh, Jack Budrow, and Craig Brown. He has participated in numerous festivals including Tanglewood Music Center, National Repertory Orchestra, Spoleto Festival USA and the Kent/Blossom Chamber Music Festival.
