This concert program spans nearly a century of orchestral music, from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4 to Edward Elgar’s Symphony No. 1. Between them, pianist Marcus Roberts and his trio join the orchestra for James P. Johnson’s Yamecraw, a tribute to the Harlem stride master that brings jazz and the symphony orchestra together in a distinctive collaboration.
