Mira Armij Gill, of East-Indian descent and a Salt Lake City, Utah native, graduated from The Juilliard School where she completed her Bachelor’s degree as one of three students of the late John Browning. While at Juilliard she also received her Master’s degree with Yoheved Kaplinsky and was awarded two Juilliard teaching fellowships, She was invited to participate in the Gnessin Institute’s inaugural piano festival in Moscow, Russia. She won the Artist's International Young Artist Piano Award resulting in her New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Ms. Gills performance with the Utah Symphony under the baton of Joseph Silverstein was hailed by the Salt Lake Tribune as “a performance with confidence and flair”.

Ms. Gill has performed in the United States, Europe, and Canada with performances broadcast on KSL, KBYU radio, and QPTV, and KSL television. She has given concerts for dignitaries and royalty.  Ms. Gill was the featured artist for the Bi-Annual Gala of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in the presence of T.R.H. Crown Prince Guillaume and Princess Stephanie of Luxembourg.  Rausch of “Le Jeudi”, a Grand-Dutchy Luxembourg newspaper wrote’ “her playing is spectacular, poetic and so inspiring”. Ms. Gill gave the first classical piano recital at the Indian Consulate of New York by special invitation of the Consul General.  Additionally Ms. Gill contributed  to the documentary “Memories of John Browning, The Lhevinne Legacy Continues” produced by Arkatov Productions. Recently, Ms. Gill has received prominent invitations to teach/coach as a European faculty  member of international summer music festivals in Austria, France and Germany.

Her newest CD the Piano Works of Samuel Barber, was released to critical acclaim on Centaur Records.  Her playing was described as “a sophisticated lyricism coupled with a boisterous energy…she sculpts lines with seduction and sensuality and her serious and astute understanding of this music reins supreme…”-Figel, American Record Guide Magazine

This September she performed with the Oakland Civic Orchestra in California for The Jammers Strong Foundation’s “Concert for a Cure” benefiting the Stanford Children’s Hospital and Pediatric Cancer Research.  Ms. Gill resides in New York where she keeps a busy concert and teaching schedule.
