Isabelle O'Connell Named a Recipient of 2025–26 Fulbright Alumni Project Fund
Isabelle O'Connell, pianist and artist in residence at Bard College, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025–26 Fulbright Alumni Project Fund, conferred by the Fulbright Commission in Ireland, which offers five €1000 grants each year to support Fulbright alumni projects and events. O’Connell, who was named a Fulbright Scholar in 1999, will use the funding to present a concert and lecture demonstration at Bard, showcasing 21st-century works for solo piano and electronics by some of today’s leading Irish and American composers. The proposed program will feature works by Irish composers Donnacha Dennehy and Gráinne Mulvey alongside American composers Chris Cerrone and Matt Sargent, and will include the US premiere of Sun of Orient Crimson with Excess of Light by acclaimed Irish composer Gráinne Mulvey. O’Connell’s project will further a transatlantic creative exchange by inviting listeners to engage deeply with the evolving language of 21st-century sound coming from both sides of the Atlantic.
