Associate Chair
Asad Raza makes art as an active, metabolic experience. Using processes such as soil-making, tennis, horticulture, and the diversion of waters, his projects create encounters between living beings within and beyond the exhibition setting, at institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Gropius Bau, Berlin; Serpentine Galleries, London; Kunsthalle Portikus; the Lahore Biennale; Kaldor Public Art Projects, Sydney; Museion, Bolzano; the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; and his one-bedroom apartment. He was born in Buffalo, New York, educated at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and lives in Berlin.
