Jumana Manna  Moving Image Associate Chair
Jumana Manna is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Jerusalem and Berlin. Her work explores how power is articulated, focusing on the body, land and materiality in relation to colonial inheritances and histories of place. Through sculpture, installation, filmmaking, and occasional writing, Manna deals with the paradoxes of preservation practices, particularly within the fields of architecture, agriculture and law. Recent solo exhibitions include: Stavanger Kunsthall 2024; Matadero Madrid 2023; MoMA PS1, New York 2022; Berkley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives, 2021; MuKHA Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp 2021; Henie Onstad Kunstsenter, Oslo, 2018 and Chisenhale Gallery, London, UK, 2015; She has participated numerous group exhibitions, biennales and film festivals, including the Venice Biennial, Hawaii Triennial, Toronto Biennial, the Flaherty Film Seminar, Yamagata International FF, Courtisane Festival, Berlinale, BAFICI, CPH:DOX, Vision du Reel, Dokufest Kosovo and Gabes Film Festival.

Manna was previously a visiting lecturer at Harvard University, the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, and has held workshops at Homeworks Space Program, Beirut and Birzeit University, Palestine. She is represented by Hollybush Gardens Gallery, and her films are distributed by LUX.
