H.A. Halpert was born in St. John’s NL, Canada, and lives in New York City. She holds a MFA from Milton Avery School of the Arts at Bard College and a BArch from the University of Texas. She uses sculpture, drawing, and animation to make work about doubles, translations, and accidents that aren’t. She runs Free Translation, Postponement Reading, and belongs to the collab, Halpert+Höflich, who produce encyclopedic histories of subjective facts and the ongoing feast, Eating and Drinking.
