Admission Overview

Admission to the Conservatory is very competitive. The Conservatory admits exceptionally talented musicians who have already achieved a superior degree of instrumental proficiency, or have substantial accomplishment as composers.

To be admitted, applicants must perform a successful audition and must also be admitted by Bard College. The chances of being admitted to the College will be substantially enhanced by outstanding achievement in music.

Regular Admission (to begin fall 2013)
January 1, 2013: Application deadline
End of January 2013: Prescreening results sent
First week of March 2013: Live auditions (by invitation only)

Transfer Student Admission
November 1, 2012: Application deadline for the spring 2013 semester 
March 1, 2013: Application deadline for the fall 2013 semester
