Admission Overview

The Conservatory admits exceptionally talented musicians who have already achieved a superior degree of instrumental proficiency, or have substantial accomplishment as composers.

To be admitted, applicants must perform a successful audition and must also be admitted by Bard College. The chances of being admitted to the College will be substantially enhanced by outstanding achievement in music.

Important Dates & Deadlines

Regular Admission (to begin fall 2014)
January 1, 2014:
Application deadline
End of January 2014: Prescreening results sent.
Live Auditions (by invitation only) will be in February and early March. Specific dates to be announced.

Transfer Student Admission
November 1: Application deadline for the spring semester 
March 1: Application deadline for the fall semester

In November and December Robert Martin, Bard Conservatory director, will be traveling in Asia to hear prescreening auditions for both the Bard College Conservatory of Music and the Soochow University School of Music. Dr. Martin will be in the following cities:
Seoul (Nov. 24-28)
Taipei (Nov. 29-30)
Singapore (Dec. 1-3)
Hong Kong (Dec. 4-5)
Shanghai (Dec. 6-7)
Beijing (Dec. 8-9)
