Author, Eating Disorders: Anatomy of a Social Epidemic (second ed., 2000); Eating Disorders and Cultures in Transition (2001); and numerous chapters and papers including works on the development of antidepressants and their interaction with psychotherapy and the history and treatment of eating disorders. New York Licensed psychologist practicing in Red Hook, New York. Member, American Psychological Association. Member and Fellow, Academy for Eating Disorders. Honorary Fellow, American Psychiatric Association, cited for contributions to understanding the social and cultural dimensions of biological psychiatry and psychiatric disorders.
