Biography:
Stephanie Kyuyoung Lee is a designer at Caro Ratti Associati (CRA), a design and innovation firm based in Turin, Italy, with offices in New York and London. Her research explores the intersection of postcolonial anxiety and utopian labor systems in the built/ non-built environment. She is the founder and director of Office of Human Resources (OHR) in New York, a practice that uses spatial work in various forms to postulate and question the politics of space, identity, colonial history, and the extractive economy to get closer to a new collective future. She has also worked at Carlos Jiménez Studio in Houston; Lee Bul Studio in Seoul; Studio Park Tae Hong in Yangon, Myanmar; and Shigeru Ban Architects in Tokyo. Awards and fellowships include Future Architecture Fellow, European Future Architecture Platform, and various research and travel grants from Rice University.BA, Wesleyan University; MArch, Rice University; also studied at Urban Design Program, Danish Institute of Study Abroad, and Rice School of Architecture Paris.
