Biography:

B.A., Colby College; Ph.D., Dartmouth College. Professor Jude is the recipient of the Albert J. Ryan Fellowship for Biomedical Sciences as well as training fellowships from the National Institutes of Health. Her current research focuses on discovery and examination of potentially biotherapeutic bacterial strains native to the Hudson Valley watershed. She previously taught at Colby College, and was a mentor at the Dartmouth College Women in Science Program. She also served as a research assistant at Jackson Laboratories. At Bard since 2009.

  • Research Interests: Study of local aquatic microbial communities and isolates; examination of surface attachment strategies of microbes; aquatic microbial biofilm formation and quroum sensing
  • Teaching Interests: Microbiology; microbial genetics; virology; molecular biology; microbial pathogenesis
