Where should the artist work? Is there a role for the artist and creative play beyond academia, media/monetization, and the art world?
Thanks to the mainstream popularity of design thinking, the working world has now widely embraced the need for and importance of designers on multidisciplinary teams. But what about the creatives whose contributions may be more abstract, conceptual, or boundary-tweaking—those who might have more of the artist's propensity toward formal experimentation or play? Drawing on her own creative projects and recent professional experiences, Leah Gilliam will examine in this talk the shifting role of the artist in the changing world of work.
