CLASSICIST STANLEY LOMBARDO READING FROM HOMER'S "ODYSSEY" AT BARD COLLEGE HAS BEEN POSTPONED .

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY: Stanley Lombado's reading that was originally scheduled for February 19, has been postponed.

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.-The Classical Studies Program at Bard College presents Stanley Lombardo, professor and chair of the Classics Department at the University of Kansas, who will read from his upcoming translation of Homer's Odyssey on Friday, February 19, at 4:00 p.m. The reading will take place in Room 102 of Olin Humanities Building and is open to the public without charge. Lombardo's translations include Homer's Iliad (Hackett, 1997), Hesiod's Works and Days and Theogony (Hackett, 1993, winner of a National Translation Center Award), among others. He has also published articles about Greek astronomy and has an interest in Asian philosophy, coauthoring a translation of the Tao Te Ching (Hackett, 1993).
