The Bard College Theater and Dance Program Presents Original Student Productions for Fall 2010

Eleanor Davis
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—Bard College presents a variety of theater and dance programs produced, directed, and choregraphed by Bard students, beginning Thursday, September 30 and continuing through the second week of December. All performances take place in LUMA Theater and the Resnick Theater Studio at the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, and are free and open to the public. For reservations and more information contact the Fisher Center box office at 845-758-7900

In addition to the popular Annual 10–Minute Play Festival, this year Bard’s Theater Department presents FireDance, written by Chiori Miyagawa, and directed by Daniella Topol; and Dot, written by Kate E. Ryan and directed by Emma Griffin. Two fourth–year directing students will present their Senior Projects: The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek, directed by Kaycee Filson and written by Naomi Wallace; and Cock, directed by Eva Steinmetz and written by Mike Bartlett. The Bard College Dance Program presents the Fall 2010 Moderation Dance program, choreographed by dance majors, as well as students making application to the dance major.

“Our student dance and theater programs are a source for new performing art, bringing together students and professionals from New York City and beyond. Bard College is where theater and dance are not just presented, but created. When you see a student performance at Bard College, you are not just seeing trend-setting performances, you may also be seeing future stars,” says Robert Bangiola, general manager of Bard’s Dance and Theater Programs.
