LECTURE BY EVOLUTION EXPERT DR. PETER GRANT SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 29 AT BARD COLLEGE IS CANCELLED

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The lecture by Dr. Peter Grant scheduled for September 29 at Bard College has been cancelled. The 2001-02 Distinguished Scientist Lecture series will continue on Thursday, October 18, at 7:30 p.m. with Cornell ecologist Dr. Thomas Eisner, who will discuss "Better Living (and Loving . . .) in the Insect World."

Other Distinguished Scientist Lectures for the fall semester include, as previously scheduled, "Spice Use and Morning Sickness as Adaptations to Protect Us from Food," presented by Paul Sherman of Cornell University on Thursday, October 25, at 7:30 p.m., and "Maternal Love and Ambivalence in the Pleistocene, the 18th Century, and Right Now," presented by Sarah Blaffer Hrdy of the University of California, Davis, on Tuesday, November 27, at 7:30 p.m.

All lectures are free and open to the public and will be held in the Bertelsmann Campus Center Multipurpose Room. For more information about the Distinguished Scientist Lecture Series, call 845-758-7581.
