B.A., University of California, Berkeley; M.Phil., University of Oxford; M.A., Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley. Specializes in the literature of medieval England, including Old and Middle English, Anglo-Norman, and Latin, with particular attention to material culture, and textual transmission and instability. Teaching and research interests include romance, historiography, hagiography, law and literature, history of the book, and paleography and codicology. Also works on contemporary poetry. Has taught at UC Berkeley, where she was the recipient of numerous awards for her poetry and grants for her academic work, including the Medieval Academy of America’s Schallek Fellowship (2011–12). Founding member, Early Middle English Society; member, FORMER, a collaborative group of medievalists whose work is inspired by literary form and aesthetics; associate editor, Archive of Early Middle English. At Bard since 2012.
