Some students with disabilities qualify for accessible or alternate formats of text (audiobooks, OCR PDFs, etc.). Disability Access Services (DAS) will coordinate accessible texts for students who qualify.

Requesting Alternative Formats

Locating and/or producing alternate materials may be time consuming. We strongly encourage students to make their accessible course material requests as early as possible (at least a month in advance) to receive texts in a timely fashion. Disability Access Services encourages students to submit their requests as soon as they receive their course schedules. Requests submitted within a week before classes begin are not guaranteed to be completed prior to classes starting.Requests can take a few weeks, depending on the source of the text. Texts will not be requested on your behalf unless you submit the form and proof of purchase (the latter for textbooks only).

How to Request Alternative Formats

In order to request texts in alternate formats, students must do the following:
  1. Students must receive this service on their accommodation plan prior to requesting texts. (If you have not registered with our office, please do so here.)
  2. Students must send proof of purchase of textbooks (e.g., receipts) to [email protected] in order for their request to be processed.
  3. DAS will notify the student when the materials are available.
