The Al-Quds Bard Honors College is committed to fostering a community that supports the diverse talents and ambitions of its students. On offer is a wide array of academic and cultural events, including lectures, film screenings, field trips, symposia, workshops, and social events.
Student Orientation
The Al-Quds Bard Abroad program begins with a comprehensive online predeparture training. Upon arrival in Abu Dis, students undertake a two-day orientation that focuses on program expectations (academic and behavioral), safety and health information, a discussion of cultural adjustment strategies, and an introduction to life in East Jerusalem.
Housing at Al-Quds Bard
Students live in homestays with Palestinian families or guest houses in Bethlehem, a 20-minute commute to campus. When possible host families will be affiliated with Al-Quds Bard or Al-Quds University. Students commute on public transportation.
Student Activities and Clubs
Students are encouraged to join or create clubs and organizations that fit their particular interests and needs. These clubs offer students the opportunity to explore hobbies, become involved in local and global issues, and practice and develop special skills. Whether clubs focus on the arts, government, writing, science, athletics, or an academic subject, the college promotes active student participation in intellectual and cultural life on campus.
