Biography:
Joshua Nelson is a licensed clinical psychologist, practicing in New York City, whose work has primarily been with adults, young adults, and teenagers who are dealing with depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol use, post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, relationship issues, and identity and life direction concerns. He received his PhD at Fordham University and was awarded a certificate in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy from New York University. He has been a private practitioner since 2006. His clinical and research experience also includes three years as a clinical associate for the New School Psychotherapy Research Program and two years as a research scientist (clinical psychotherapist) at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/New York Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center. His work has been published in Contemporary Psychoanalysis, International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies, Archives of Suicide Research, Journal of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and Brain and Cognition.
