Bard College Arboretum Featured in Hudson Valley Magazine
Hudson Valley Magazine has included the Bard arboretum in its roundup list of “14 Gorgeous Botanical Gardens to Visit in the Hudson Valley,” which highlights the most beautiful local public botanical gardens and arboretums in the region. The Bard arboretum rests on 930 acres along the Hudson River and serves as both a place for enjoyment as well as a living classroom, with multiple distinct gardens and natural areas. Blithewood Garden and Montgomery Place Garden are the best known, but Bard’s campus includes many additional gardens including the Woodland Garden, Chinese Garden, Native Garden, Elizabethan Knot Garden, Meditation Garden, Xeriscape Garden, Grass Garden, Shade Garden, and the Community Garden. Natural areas include the Bartlett Field, Beech Woods at Stevenson Gym, North Campus Meadow, Olin Pond and Wetland, South Woods at Montgomery Place, Tewksbury Meadow, the woods at the Reem-Kayden Center for Science and Computation, and woodland ravines across campus.
