Distillery Owned by Bard Alumna Pia Carusone ’03 Releases a New Gin in Support of Abortion Access
Bard Class of 2003 alumna Pia Carusone’s distillery, Republic Restoratives, released Dissent Gin in the aftermath of the overturning of Roe v Wade. For each bottle sold, the company will donate $10 to the National Network of Abortion Funds to help cover travel and lodging costs for women in dire need of abortion care. Republic Restoratives created the gin in honor of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her dissenting opinions. “Millions of Americans live in communities where safe and legal abortions were just banned. The war on women is raging but we won’t be silent,” Carusone tells DC Eater.
