presents a special BardWrites
event, featuring author and Bardian Nikkya Hargrove ’05
, for a discussion about personal essay, memoir, and equity in publishing. Nikkya’s work has been published by outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post
, and The Guardian.
Her much anticipated debut memoir, Mama: A Black, Queer Woman’s Journey to Motherhood
(Algonquin), is due for publication in fall 2022. Nikkya is also a member of Bard’s Board of Governors and is chair of the alumni/ae Diversity Committee. The event will be hosted by author Maya Gottfried ’95
and is free to members of the Bard community. Registration is required.
