Inside Sustainability with Bard MBA: Beyond Burnout: Equity, Hiring & AI

Bard MBA in Sustainability Presents

Inside Sustainability with Bard MBA: Beyond Burnout: Equity, Hiring & AI

Thursday, January 22, 2026
BPCM/Bard MBA in Sustainability
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm EST/GMT-5
A candid conversation on equity, hiring, and AI—and how leaders support people without burning them out.

Join Bard College’s #1–ranked MBA in Sustainability program for a live recording of our popular podcast, Lead the Change. The Inside Sustainability live podcast series brings you into candid, unfiltered conversations with faculty, alumni, practitioners, and thought leaders about what it takes to drive real change in today’s rapidly shifting world.

This month, Renay Loper, host of the Lead the Change podcast and faculty in organizational leadership, is joined by Ayana Fernandes Pilgrim, who is an inclusive talent strategist, a certified career and life transformation coach, and the career advisor for the Bard MBA in Sustainability.

Together, they’ll explore how equity, talent, and AI are reshaping the real operating systems inside organizations—and what leaders can do when fatigue and resistance are high. As AI accelerates changes in hiring and people systems, the stakes are clear: are we scaling bias and burnout, or scaling clarity, capability, and care?

In this real-talk conversation, we’ll dig into:
  • Why resistance and fatigue in equity work are data, not dysfunction—and what they’re often protecting
  • How hiring, role design, onboarding, and advancement are among the highest-leverage systems change tools leaders have
  • What responsible, human-centered AI in hiring actually looks like, including what should never be automated and where “human-in-the-loop” leadership matters most
Following the 30-minute live podcast recording, join us for a facilitated audience discussion on making practical leadership choices that align values, people systems, and performance—without burning teams out.

Light refreshments and small bites provided.
