The Orchestra Now Presents

TŌN Capstone Project: Chamber Music of the Natural World

Saturday, April 26, 2025
Palatine Park in Germantown, NY
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER.

To cap their third year of study, all masters of music candidates are required to create their own thesis project. This performance is the Capstone Project of TŌN violinist Jonathan Fenwick.

At the Chancellor’s Sheep and Wool Showcase 2025, members of TŌN present a program of chamber music inspired by nature. Jonathan Fenwick, Yuchen Zhao, Sam Omalyev, and Shawn Thoma play string quartets by Haydn, Dvořák, Handel, Sibelius, Puccini, Pärt, and Grainger. Come hear music written to evoke birds chirping, forests, streams, and flowers blooming in the springtime!

The Chancellor’s Sheep and Wool Showcase is a family-friendly event that features shearing demonstrations, farm animals, and historic reenactments. The artisan craft market offers a little something for everyone at every price point, including brilliant yarns, fleeces, soaps, candles, flowers, and handicraft treasures. One of Clermont’s oldest and most popular annual festivals, The Chancellor’s Sheep and Wool Showcase has become a springtime tradition for many in the area. With local historians and demonstrators on hand, the traditional Irish music of Tamarack and the nature-inspired music of The Orchestra Now filling the air, and many springtime crafts, historic toys and games, and sheep meet-and-greets for the little ones, there’s something for everyone at Sheep and Wool!

Schedule:

Dvořák Selections from Cypresses (“On the Shore of the Brook”, “Maydawn Over the Landscape”)
Handel Selections from Water Music (“Air”, “Bourrée”, “Hornpipe” from the Suite in F)
