“Governor Cuomo” Puppet Addresses Children’s Concerns about Covid-19 at Virtual Preschool

At the Abigail Lundquist Nursery School at Bard College, early childhood teachers use puppets, stuffed animals, and found materials to create characters and stories to talk with children about their questions and feelings. In a Zoom conversation recorded in April, the team of teachers staged a daily briefing with a handmade puppet named “Governor Cuomo,” who addressed the question foremost on children’s minds: When can we go back to school?
