Bard President Leon Botstein Quoted in Book Highlighting Jewish Thought Leaders

Leon Botstein, president of Bard College, was featured in a new book, Jewish Voices: Inspiring and Empowering Quotes from Global Thought Leaders, by Dana Rubin. The book includes quotes from 75 contributors—ranging from figures of the Borscht Belt and Broadway, to politicians, writers, historical figures, as well as from the Torah—and Rubin has drawn from the spans of Jewish culture and all branches of the religion to fully appreciate Jewish thought across time and space. “Our capacity to create something that is not useful, that’s only understood by mortals, that’s only within the human experience, and that is beyond the provable and everyday, that is unpredictable—that is the highest praise we can give for being human,” reads President Botstein’s contribution to the work.
