Art work by Lucina Yue ’25, a student at the US-China Music Institute of the Bard College Conservatory of Music, has been selected to appear in the University of Pennsylvania’s 4th Chinese Character Art Exhibition. Yue’s work utilized two major Chinese calligraphy scripts: the clerical script, which was well-established during the Han dynasty, and the regular script, which reached its peak during the Tang dynasty. Her work, which was noted for its complexity and high level of creativity, features these methods to symbolize that although the great civilizations of both dynasties are past, their influence remains deeply engraved.
