ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The military conflict between Russia and Georgia that began in early August has prompted headlines suggesting that the United States and Russia could be headed for another cold war. On Monday, September 8, the Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program and the Bard–West Point Exchange will present a panel discussion on the conflict in Georgia and its implications for relations between the United States and Russia. The discussion, which is free and open to the public, takes place at 7:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Bertelsmann Campus Center.

 
The panel participants are Major Jonathan Dunn, assistant professor, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Russian/Eurasian foreign officer, U.S. Army; Carter Page, director, Bard Globalization and International Affairs Program, and former deputy branch office manager, Merrill Lynch, Moscow; and Jonathan Becker, dean of International Studies at Bard and author of Soviet and Russian Press Coverage of the United States: Press Politics and Identity in Transition.
