The Bard College Conservatory of Music and the Richard B. Fisher Center Present "Conservatory Sundays"

Chamber and Orchestral Music Sunday Afternoons
in the Sosnoff Theater

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The Bard Conservatory of Music and the Fisher Center present a chamber music concert on Sunday, October 25 at 3 p.m. The suggested ticket prices for “Conservatory Sundays: Chamber Music” are $20, $15 and $5; proceeds from the program benefit the Scholarship Fund of The Bard College Conservatory of Music. The concert of chamber music will be performed by Conservatory faculty members Frank Corliss, Richard Dallesio, Laura Flax, Marc Goldberg, Julia Pilant, and Robert Martin, and by Conservatory students Shun-Yang Less, KC Brazeau, David Adam Nagy, and the Chimeng String Quartet. The Program includes Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds, Schubert’s Quintet in C Major (“Two-Cello Quintet”), and André Previn’s Trio for Piano, Oboe, and Bassoon.

The next program in the Conservatory Sundays concert series is on Sunday, November 8 at 3 p.m. “Conservatory Sundays: Performance by the Conservatory Orchestra”is a concert of orchestral music conducted by Harold Farberman. The program includes Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Suite, Claude Debussy’s La mer and Harold Farberman’s Greek Scene.

On Sunday, December 6 at 3 p.m., The Bard College Conservatory of Music presents a concert of orchestral music performed by the Conservatory Orchestra, Soovin Kim, violin soloist, conducted by Nanse Gum. Rossini’s L'italiana in Algeri, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D, Op. 61, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 will be performed.

All Conservatory Sundays proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund of The Bard College Conservatory of Music. Suggested donations are $20 (orchestra seating), $15 (parterre/first balcony), and the minimum donation for orchestra seating: $5. Seating location for tickets reserved without a donation will be assigned by the Box Office.

The mission of The Bard College Conservatory of Music is to provide the best possible preparation for a person dedicated to a life immersed in the creation and performance of music. Now completing its fourth year, the conservatory features a unique double degree program in which all undergraduate conservatory students receive a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in another field. In addition, the conservatory offers graduate programs in Vocal Arts, led by renowned soprano Dawn Upshaw, and in Conducting, led by Harold Farberman, as well as a Post-Graduate Collaborative Piano Fellowship, directed by Frank Corliss.
