The Distinguished Scientist Lecture Series Continues with Leading Climatologist Mark Cane on Thursday, April 22
Cane is also director of Columbia’s M.A. Program in Climate and Society in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. He is an active member of the Earth Institute’s academic committee and is on the executive committee for the Earth Institute’s NSF-funded ADVANCE program, which seeks to increase the participation and advancement of women scientists and engineers at Columbia through institutional transformation. Cane received his B.A. at Harvard in 1965, his M.A. from Harvard in 1966, and his Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1975.
