Bard Center For Civic Engagement Announces “Get Engaged” Volunteer Fair on October 15
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The Bard College Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) is pleased to announce Get Engaged in the Hudson Valley, a volunteer fair with a focus on education, youth services, health-care organizations, and advocacy groups. Get Engaged will be held on Wednesday, October 15, from 4 pm to 6 pm at Bard College’s Bertelsmann Campus Center Multipurpose Room. This is the second of two fall semester volunteer fairs hosted by the CCE to help organizations recruit volunteers and to provide information on local services. Organizations and community groups seeking volunteers will be featured including the Lisa Libraries, La Voz, Young Rhinebeck, PANDA TV 23, Maternal Infant-Services Network, and many more.
“Students are constantly seeking opportunities to make connections locally as volunteers or to secure internships,” said Erin Cannan, CCE associate director. “The fair provides students with a sense of who is part of the community, the challenges they face, and how they attempt to address those challenges.”
The first volunteer fair, held in September, drew a wide variety of area organizations, farms, and local businesses to Bard campus, and participants were involved in a diversity of local issues including environmental justice, sustainability, and agriculture.
If your organization would like to participate, please contact Brian Mateo, associate director of student activities and engagement, at [email protected] or by phone at 845-758-7098.
