ACTOR AND DIRECTOR JOHN TURTURRO WILL DISCUSS HIS RECENT FILM ILLUMINATA AND PERFORM IN "AN EVENING OF STORYTELLING" ON SATURDAY, APR
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—Actor and director John Turturro will appear at two events on Saturday, April 15, sponsored by the Italian Studies and the Film and Electronic Arts Programs at Bard College. At 12:00 noon at Upstate Films in Rhinebeck, New York, Turturro will discuss and screen his recent film Illuminata, and at 6:30 p.m. at Olin Hall, Bard College, he will appear with Katherine Borowitz for "An Evening of Storytelling." Both events are free and open to the public.
Illuminata
is an acclaimed independent film, written and directed by Turturro, which paints a poetic and uproarious portrait of popular theater at the turn of the century in New York City. Among others, it features John Turturro, Katherine Borowitz, Christopher Walken, Susan Sarandon, Ben Gazzara, and Beverly D'Angelo."An Evening of Storytelling,"
with John Turturro and Katherine Borowitz, is a program of dramatic readings from the works of Italo Calvino, Primo Levi, and John Fante.
