AUTHOR DIANE WILLIAMS WILL GIVE PUBLIC READING OF HER NEW WORK AT BARD COLLEGE ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY—Fiction writer Diane Williams will give a public reading of her new work at Bard College on Monday, November 20, at 2:30 p.m. in Room 102 of the F. W. Olin Humanities Building. \"Williams\'s miniatures cast long shadows, while offering unexpected meanings to the light which edges them,\" says Bradford Morrow, professor of literature and Bard Center fellow. The reading, presented by Morrow\'s Innovative Contemporary Fiction Course, is free and open to the public.

\"Williams tears into the worlds of love, death, outlaw sexuality, and the strange workings of society with a ferocity that is rare . . . [Her stories] should be read not only as challenges to traditional aesthetic sensibilities, but also as ways to refigure our own lives,\" writes a reviewer in the Pittsburgh Press about Williams\'s book Excitability: Selected Stories 1986–1996. Her other books include The Stupefaction and Some Sexual Success Stories: Plus Other Stories in Which God Might Choose to Appear. She is also the editor of the literary magazine Noon.
