MATH CONFERENCE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9, AT BARD COLLEGE WILL GATHER LEADING MATHEMATICIANS IN NORTHEAST

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—On Saturday, October 9, Bard College is hosting Discrete Mathematics Day, an all-day math conference that will gather leading mathematicians in the Northeast to discuss a variety of topics in contemporary mathematics. Among the speakers is Marjorie Senechal, who is the Louise Wolff Kahn Professor in Mathematics and History of Science and Technology and director of the Louise W. and Edmund J. Kahn Liberal Arts Institute at Smith College. The one-day conference, which is sponsored by Bard College and the National Security Agency, takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in room 115 of the Olin Language Center on the Bard Campus. The conference is open to the public, but preregistration is required by e-mailing [email protected].
