24-HOUR PLAY FESTIVAL TO BE PRESENTED AT BARD’S RICHARD B. FISHER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS ON FEBRUARY

Event produced by the Theater Guild of Bard College, a student-run organization of theater majors ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—On Saturday, February 19, at 8:00 p.m., a free performance—the culmination of the 24-Hour Play Festival that offers seven to eight 10-minute plays written and rehearsed within a 24-hour period—comes to the Resnick Theater Studio of the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Produced by the Theater Guild of Bard College, a student-run organization composed of theater majors, the Saturday evening event is the conclusion of 24 hours of intensive work. The night before, all the participants (actors, directors, designers, and playwrights) first meet to discuss possible themes that are then selected at random. Once the themes are chosen, each of the playwrights creates a 10-minute play that touches on the chosen theme. On Saturday morning, each director receives a script and assigns a cast that spends the rest of the day in rehearsal. The plays are yet to be written, cast, or rehearsed, but within the 24 hours of intense focus, the students will create an evening filled with surprising entertainment.
