CAREY HARRISON, DISTINGUISHED BRITISH NOVELIST AND PLAYWRIGHT, SPEAKS AT BARD ON MONDAY, APRIL 17

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The Writing Program at Bard College presents a talk by the distinguished British novelist and playwright, Carey Harrison, on Monday, April 17. Free and open to the public, the program begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Cinema of the Bertelsmann Campus Center. Introducing Harrison is poet Robert Kelly, the Asher B. Edelman Professor of Literature and founding director of the Writing Program of the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College. “Harrison’s work has been deeply concerned with issues of responsibility, the unbreakable links between people, and the haunting of Europe by the Holocaust,” explains professor Kelly. He will read from recent work including a group of several novels he recently completed as well as the soon to be published Justice. Harrison is the author of many novels (including Richard’s Feet, Cley, Egon, Freud—a novel) and plays for stage, radio, and television, including the recent BBC/PBS miniseries on Freud.
