Key Foundation Awards Bard College $25000 for Its Service to the Public Interest

Bard College has received a $25,000 grant from the Key Foundation, a private foundation funded by KeyCorp, for its years of dedicated service as a nonprofit educational institution. The Key Foundation provides support to organizations that operate in the service of the public interest and address critical needs within the community. Over the years, Bard College has created and operated numerous programs and institutions aimed at serving both its local community and the broader public. Bard’s Trustee Leader Scholar Program supports undergraduate leadership development in the context of hands-on, student-initiated community service projects. The College also provides arts and culture programs to the public, including the acclaimed Bard Music Festival and SummerScape festival, as well as performances, plays, lectures, and symposiums offered throughout the year. The Richard B. Fisher Center for Performing Arts at Bard College, designed by architect Frank Gehry, plays a significant role in invigorating the cultural life of the Hudson Valley, and Bard’s new Hessel Museum offers the public the opportunity to experience world-class exhibitions of cutting-edge contemporary art. “We are proud that we have served the public interest over the years, and that we have been able to address critical needs within the community. The generous support of the Key Foundation will assist us to continue that important work,” says Dimitri B. Papadimitriou, Executive Vice President of the College. Key Foundation is a private foundation funded by KeyCorp. Annual grants and matching gifts are given by the foundation to charitable organizations in the communities that KeyCorp serves. ###
