Acclaimed Fiction Writer Brian Evenson To Give Reading at Bard College on March 19

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— Novelist and short story writer Brian Evenson will read from new work at Bard College on Monday, March 19. Evenson is the director of the Literary Arts Program at Brown University. He is the author of six books of fiction, most recently The Wavering Knife, which won the International Horror Guild Award for best short story collection, and The Brotherhood of Mutilation. He will be introduced by novelist and Bard literature professor Bradford Morrow. The reading, which is being presented as part of Morrow’s course on innovative contemporary fiction, is free and open to the public and takes place at 2:30 p.m. in Weis Cinema in Bertelsmann Campus Center. Evenson is also the author of The Open Curtain: A Novel, a current finalist for the Edgar Award; Dark Property: An Affliction; Contagion; Father of Lies; The Din of Celestial Birds; and Altmann's Tongue: Stories and Novella. In addition, he has translated work by Christian Gailly, Jean Frèmon, and Jacques Jouet. He has received an O. Henry Prize, NEA fellowship, and Howard Foundation Award, among other awards and honors.
