Sandor Burka ’27 Performed at 14th Harvard Roma Conference

Bard student Sandor Burka ’27 participated in the 14th Harvard Roma Conference, Mapping Romani Futures: Connected Local Histories and Global Realities. The conference began as a forum to examine and address anti-Roma racism and to strengthen data collection on Roma, especially Roma youth and children. This year’s conference focused on human rights abuses affecting Romani children in the context of growing global instability, with the goal of shaping equitable futures for Romani youth. Burka was invited to perform at the conference as a violinist, and provided musical accompaniment to a greeting from the conference’s Master of Ceremonies Rayna Emilova.

The mission of the Bard College Conservatory of Music is to provide the best possible preparation for a person dedicated to a life immersed in the creation and performance of music.
