TEDxBard Prepares for its Biggest Year Yet

The next TEDxBard conference will take place in May 2027, under the title Changing the Narrative. According to an article written by student Raahim Waqas ’27, this year's TEDxBard event is the largest yet, with 12 speakers drawn from more than 65 applications from across the Bard network. The 2027 TEDxBard conference introduces a two-part experience with both a digital and live component, including a collective watch-party and opportunities for further conversation and engagement, expanding the audience beyond the 100 seats available at the live event itself.
The selected speakers for TEDxBard 2027 include Desiree Lyle, Program Director, Center for Environmental Sciences and Humanities, Erin Cannan, Vice President of the Bard Center for Civic Engagement, Jonathan Becker, Acting President of Bard, and Phillip Lindsay, Director of Democracy Innovation at the Hannah Arendt Center.
TEDxBard is a student-organized, independent TEDx event that first took place at Bard College in 2023. Featuring interdisciplinary talks in the same manner as the famous TED Talks and its advocacy of “ideas worth spreading,” the conference provides a platform for Bard community members to sharpen their public speaking skills, share their stories, and spark thoughtful campus dialogue. Previous themes include Shaping the Future and Building Bridges.
