Upcoming Installation by Professor An-My Lê Featured in Palm Springs Life
Photographer and Charles Franklin Kellogg and Grace E. Ramsey Kellogg Professor in the Arts An-My Lê’s upcoming installation was covered in Palm Springs Life Magazine. The installation, which opens this January, is focused on the California desert sky at nighttime and is part of her series Dark Star, which began in 2024 at Mesa Verde National Park. As a High Desert Test Sites fellow, Lê used a star tracker to capture her photographs and will install them in the Planar Pavilions sculptures at the High Desert Test Sites headquarters at Joshua Tree.
Lê has taught at Bard since 1998. Her past exhibits have focused on landscapes in Vietnam and the American South as well as 29 Palms, her previous installation focused on the California desert. In 2025, she was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
Bard’s Photography program offers instruction in the medium while providing a historical and aesthetic framework for student development within the context of a broad-based liberal arts education.
