Veranda Magazine: Garden Conservancy’s Work Documenting Blithewood History Is “Redefining Preservation as We Know It”
“Garden preservation, like all preservation, is a preservation of the human spirit,” Pamela Governale, director of preservation for the Garden Conservancy, said to Veranda magazine. “Gardens are really an expression of our values. They’re an expression of our culture, our history, and our connection to the land.” The Conservancy is working to preserve the history of Blithewood’s garden, located on Bard’s Annandale campus, “looking not just to restore plant matter or rebuild a gazebo but also to tell a garden’s deeper human story in short documentary films,” writes Tracey Minkin for Veranda.
