What Our Parents Say

What Our Parents Say

Our son was wavering between Bard, Vassar and the Art Institute of Boston and our visit clinched the decision for him. What impressed me most was the Q&A session with President Botstein. In the course of answering simple and practical questions from family members, he elucidated a philosophy of encouragement, challenge, personal responsibility, and student confidence-boosting that lies at the heart of what I believe the transition to higher education should be about.

More from Our Families

We are so grateful for the wonderful education that Bard has provided for our daughter. We are inspired when we walk on the campus and hope Bard keeps educating the world as beautifully as it has done for so many years.
—Karin Labby

Hoping you keep on helping kids - including mine, reach for a better and brighter tomorrow.
—Sébastien Ramseyer

Higher education is so important to me, and Bard has always been a special place for us.
—Sharon Wiles-Young

I am so happy that my son found his way to the extraordinary community at Bard College. He has been embraced by and is embracing the Bard experience. I cannot thank you enough for creating an environment where young people can learn and expand their consciousness in a safe and welcoming place.
—Carolyn Cartwright

I greatly appreciate Bard's efforts to make a college education accessible to underprivileged and underserved communities rather than sending out tons of glossy calendars and other trivial publications, so I wanted to recognize and support Bard's efforts.
—Hilary Hamilton

My son had such an incredibly rich experience at Bard. I wish my own college experience had been as intellectually engaging.
—Sarah Furstenberg

Bard offered great opportunities, resources, and scholarships to international students with good academic performance. Our son came to study in the U.S., and we are so thankful for the learning journey he had and the support he had at Bard.
—Huei-Min Su

My daughter Callen consistently blows my mind, and I'm certain BARD has a part in that. So I thank you once again.

A Guidance Counselor's Perspective

Bard College is one of the strongest undergraduate programs in the country, providing more genuinely intellectual stimulation and more service than any college I know. Bard is fun—but it is fun if you like using your imagination, talking to professors, and having thoughtful conversations with friends. Bard is one of the last colleges where students stay up late talking about books that they have read.
