Language & Thinking

The Language and Thinking Program is an intensive introduction to the liberal arts and sciences with a particular focus on writing. It is attended by all incoming Bard students during the last three weeks of August. Established at Bard College in 1981, Language and Thinking fosters robust interdisciplinary study, innovative pedagogy, and writing across a wide range of genres. The Program is also an introduction to the intellectual and creative life of the College and to the Bard campus and community.

Arts at Bard

The First-Year Experience

Sakinah Bennett is a Bard student majoring in dance and historical studies. She is a Posse Scholar from Atlanta, Georgia. Sakinah talks to incoming students about the first-year experience at Bard.
