Who can apply?
Undergraduate (typically typically second-, third-, and fourth-year) students at North American colleges or universities are invited to apply.  First-year students are welcome to apply to the Russian in Central Asia Summer Program, and should contact the program regarding semester eligibility. 

All program applicants should begin the application process by creating an account in Bard’s international applicant portal, Studio Abroad. Follow the links below based on the type of program you want to attend.

Application Deadlines

Summer: March 15
Fall/Academic Year: April 1
Spring Semester: November 1

Early applications are strongly encouraged. Applicants should receive notification of their admission status within two weeks of completing the application process.

Application Process

1.  Start your online program application.
2.  Read the application guide available within the online system.
3.  Complete the general application form and the program supplement, including essay.
4.  Through the online system, request two academic recommendations.
5.  Through the online system, request one study abroad advisor recommendation.
6.  Request your college transcript(s) be sent to Bard Abroad.
7.  Send your application fee to Bard Abroad. 

Passport and Visa Requirements

At the time of application, students must have a valid passport, be in the process of obtaining a new passport, or be in the process of renewing a current passport. According to US immigration regulations, passports must be valid for a minimum of six months after the program end date.
