Dear Families,
We’re here to support your student throughout their time at Bard and as they prepare for post-graduation options, whether that means launching a career or furthering their education. Our office helps students identify their career goals, build strong resumes, write impactful cover letters, and offers students access to a wide range of professional development resources and programs.
To stay informed about upcoming programs and opportunities, we encourage you and your student to explore our calendar, available on our homepage. All students are also welcome to meet with us individually for one-on-one advising, and we recommend that every student connect with us at least once during their time at Bard.
Over the years, many family members have generously supported the Career Development Office. Some have served on professional panels, given talks, or shared job and internship opportunities from their organizations with Bard students.
If you're interested in sharing a job or internship, you can do so via Handshake (our online job platform) or by contacting our office at [email protected]. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Warmest regards,
The Career Development Office Staff
Family Partnerships
- Hiring Bardians for jobs and internships: CDO can help you recruit Bard students and alumni/ae for job and internship opportunities at your place of work. Families are encouraged to send opportunities to [email protected]. CDO also welcomes family members to participate in the annual recruiting consortium in New York City.
- Career Exploration: CDO organizes a series of career pathways trips, which are employer site visits, often to the offices of Bard alumni/ae, family members, and friends of the College. These trips allow students to gain an inside perspective about career paths within specific industries, tips and advice from hiring managers, opportunities to network and engage with top employers, and more. We invite you to host a site visit to your company or organization.
- Professional Development: Family members can volunteer time to participate in several professional development programs that CDO organizes throughout the year. These include mock interviews, career panels and workshops, BardWorks programming, and more. We always seek to create new career-related programs, events, and opportunities for our students, so please let us know your ideas as well.
