About Brian Conn Brian Conn (M.F.A, Brown University) is the author of The Fixed Stars (FC2, 2010) and the winner of the 2013 Bard Fiction Prize. With Joanna Ruocco, he edits Birkensnake, a fiction annual. He has taught writing at Brown University, University of California, Santa Cruz, and the University of Rhode Island.
