Joshua Boettiger
Jewish Chaplain, Visiting Assistant Professor of the Humanities
Biography:
Jewish chaplain Joshua Boettiger is a Rabbis Without Borders fellow and also serves as the Associate Rosh Yeshiva at the Center for Contemporary Mussar, where he teaches text, theology, and the practice of Jewish approaches to mindfulness and service. He previously taught at Williams College and Southern Vermont College, and has been a scholar in residence at various locations around the country, teaching on topics ranging from modern Jewish thought to biblical Hebrew and the history of Jewish poetry. Before coming to Bard, he served as rabbi at Temple Emek Shalom in Ashland, Oregon.BA, Bard College; MA, Reconstructionist Rabbinical College; MFA, creative writing, Pacific University. At Bard since 2021.
