Academic Information Sessions: Earn a Bard BA and Master's Degree in Five Years

Tuesday, August 19, 2025
Reem-Kayden Center
4:30 pm – 6:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
Join the combined degree programs for a meet-and-greet and reception before individual information sessions:

3+2 Program in Economic Theory and Policy
Bard is proud to be the home of an internationally known think tank, the Levy Economics Institute. In the 3+2 program, students study with both Bard faculty and Levy scholars, allowing them to leverage economics for the greater good. Join Thomas Masterson, director of the Levy Graduate Programs in Economic Theory and Policy and Tyler Emerson, assistant to the director and graduate admission officer, to learn how to earn a BA and MS in five years under the guidance of true public policy experts.

4+1 Program in Economic Theory and Policy
The 4+1 pathway offers Bard graduates in economics an opportunity to seamlessly transition to a one-year Master of Arts in Economic Theory and Policy, offered by the Levy Institute. Graduates in related disciplines are also encouraged to apply.

4+1 Program in Environmental Policy, Climate Science and Policy, or Environmental Education
Want to get paid to tackle environmental justice issues, advance sustainable development, or educate the next generation on climate change and biodiversity? Bard's Graduate Programs in Sustainability (GPS) offer 4+1 pathways that launch Bard undergrads into high-impact environmental careers. Join Margo Bogossian, Associate Director of Enrollment and Marketing for Bard GPS, to learn how you can earn an MS in Environmental Policy, an MS in Climate Science and Policy, or an MEd in Environmental Education with just one additional year at Bard.

4+1 Master of Arts in Teaching Program
Interested in teaching? The BA/MAT 4+1 program is designed to offer Bard undergraduates a path to a master of arts in teaching (MAT) degree and New York State grades 7–12 teacher certification in one of five subject areas (biology, history, literature, mathematics, or Spanish) within five years of entering college. Join Cecilia Maple '01, director of admission and student affairs for Bard MAT, to learn about Bard's BA/MAT 4+1 degree path for undergraduates.
